Believing that effective therapy is based on a safe, trusting relationship between client and therapist, Kay offers a warm, encouraging, confidential and non judgemental style.   Respecting each client’s unique needs, she offers guidance and direction in working out what changes to make and how to develop the skills, strength and resources to achieve these.  Working with individuals and couples, she focuses on how to promote a more purposeful and contented way of living.
Kay moved to HK in 1984 from the UK, after graduating with an MA (Hons) Economics and worked for 15 years in the corporate sector in executive development and psychometric assessment. She qualified with a Masters in Counselling, Newcastle University, UK in 2006 and worked as a couples’ therapist through the International Institute of Imago Therapy, US in 2010. She has completed training in Cognitive Behavioural, Gestalt and EMDR therapy and recently certified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. Self-development groups and working with teenagers in international schools have added to her depth of experience here in HK.

Through her work with individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, work stress, bereavement, existential and relationship difficulties, she believes that with the right support, we all have the capacity and resilience to adapt and flourish. She has a keen personal interest in exercise and nutrition and practices yoga and mindfulness to keep a calm and humourous outlook on life.
